It’s way less flashy and it just gets down to the bare minimum of what he needs for himself. It’s a little more introspective, a little more intimate of a look. And the concept behind it is sort of a hearkening to like a blind justice feel and also sort of referencing this bandaged feel, this sort of infirm feel for Matt Murdock, because I think it has everything to do with his mental state for the season. And we decided to use something that had a little bit more of a texture to it. "The only thing that’s sort of available to him are like black and white fabric. "And the idea behind his mask for this season is basically thinking about what he has at his fingertips and the situation he finds himself in," Vastola said. In particular, the look of Matt's mask will change as he fashions himself a new costume out of the limited materials available to him. And so we strip away… the suit kind of plays in a certain way but we definitely get back to a look for him that’s kind of an underground, street urchin, a little bit more elemental, and a little bit visceral." Vastola noted that Season 3's black costume won't be identical to the one from Season 1. And it’s definitely a season where he starts out pretty down and out. It kind of brings to light his own feelings about who he is and who Daredevil is and what that suit represents for him.

And I think it has to do with … it’s kind of psychological.

And over the course of this season we move away from that for him and we go back to something for Matt that’s much more along the lines of his first season look. It ran for three seasons, totaling 39 episodes, and was widely. YES NOCostume designer Liz Vastola elaborated on that, saying, "In The Defenders we leave Matt in a real state in his current suit. When it comes to Netflixs Daredevil series, one thing cant be denied.
